CLASS – Bangladesh: Children’s Art Competition

The annual Rafi Memorial Child and Adolescent Art Competition was held in a local community centreon July 28 under the auspice of the Children Leukemia Assistance & Support Service (CLASS). 

Over 500 students from 22 primary and secondary schools located in the city and adjacent areas participated in the day-long colorful event. Among those were seven cancer-children under treatment who took part in the competition thus giving the event a dimension of jubilance and hilarity which was enjoyed by their also present parents and siblings. Rotary Club of Islamabad,Chittagong extended necessary cooperation to CLASS in holding this competition.

Eminent artist Md. Jasimuddin, Chairman, fine arts department of Chittagong University, inaugurated the competition and also performed as chief judge.

Trophies and gifts were distributed among the victorious competitors by the chief guest, Prof. Mohammad Kamaluddin Chowdhury. The function was addressed, among others, by Advocate Humayun Akhtar, president of Rotary Club of Islamabad Chittagong, CLASS General Secretary eminent artist Enayat Hussain, Dr. Rawnak Jahan, Foisal Mahmud and CLASS Chairman Osman Gani Mansur. It needs mentioning here that this competition is being held for the last 13 years on the occasion of founding of the organization. The prize winning competitors this year were: Saraban Tohura Twitty, Saima Binte Alam Saba, Tanisha Mohajon, Firoja Mehejabeen, KhoshnurJahan, Md. Belal Hussain, Tahseen Johayer and pronoy Chowdhury Shuvo.
