Capacity Development.
CCI strives to enhance and maximise its members’ potential, so they can develop and deliver effective programmes and services, which are innovative; as well as create cost effective solutions to the needs of young people and challenges faced by children and adolescents with cancer, survivors and their families.
As part of our commitment to continuing learning and development, CCI , often in conjunction with SIOP (the global Society of Paediatric Oncology), holds regional conferences in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and Oceania. mid-year CCI, simultaneously with and in cooperation with SIOP, holds an annual international conference in September or October of every year.
These regional and international conferences bring together medical professionals, researchers, nutritionists, nurses, psychosocial care providers, local and national government leaders, as well as the leaders of CCI member organisations , who are parents, survivors, family members, volunteers, and and NGO (nonprofit organisation professionals). The bringing together of so many different professionals and affected persons under one conference is very unique globally and not common in other sectors (health or other). CCI is proud of this collaboration, which allows for extensive networking and the development of effective and widely accepted initiatives.
As part of its commitment to continuing learning and development and in conjunction with SIOP, Childhood Cancer International holds regional conferences in Asia and Africa (mid year) and an annual international conference in September/October.
In Europe and Latin America, CCI conducts its own regional conference in collaboration with regional and national partners and allies. CCI Oceania will hold its first regional conference this year.
These regional and international conferences bring together clinicians, researchers, nutritionists, nurses, psychosocial care providers, local and national government leaders, as well as leaders of CCI member organizations, survivors and parent experts.
